Eating & Sleeping Habits: Since Kolson got sick his schedule has been all over the place. He will wake up anytime between 5 and 8:30 in the morning. He will have some pureed banana and a 6 oz bottle then he will play for a couple hours have another bottle and depending on the day he sometimes go down for an hour nap. If not, we will go outside or play some more. Throughout the day he has between 5 and 6 more bottles and another bowl of baby food (usually a veggie) for lunch then will have a 5 oz bottle and some sweet potatoes or avocados for dinner and a bottle right before we go to bed. My schedule has been super hectic lately so he usually gets a good nap in while we are running around. If not he likes to be up all day and must be entertained.
Measurements: At his appointment last week Kolson was 30 inches long and weighed 23.5 pounds!
New Milestones: Kolson can sit up completely on his own his own now. He will sit up very straight for a while, but then he will slouch over to play with his feet. His two bottom teeth are basically completely through and his pediatrician says his two top teeth will be cutting through soon! He loves to walk around in his walker and especially to chase Cooper around the house (which Cooper hates). He officially said his first word on May 1st which of course was "dada". He said "momma" on April 15th, but it was always in a cry. Dada was very clear and he wouldn't stop saying it. He also says hi if you say hi back to him! His crawling is getting a lot better. He will go a short distance doing an army crawl. We are working on getting him on all fours now :)
Loves: giving kisses and getting kisses, being tickled, people playing with his feet, food, Cooper, talking, singing, blowing raspberries, bath time, water, my neighbor Jen.
Doesn't Love: The only things Kolson doesn't love are falling asleep and peas
Diapers: Kolson is still in Pampers or Huggies size 3. I prefer Pampers because they last longer
Clothing: Kolson has been switched to 9 moths for everything and fits perfectly in onesies; pajamas however are kind of getting tight on him
Mood: With the exception of his reaction to the shots he got today, Kolson has been really happy for the most part. He loves attention from anyone and will talk/babble to everything and anything he possibly can.
Firsts: Since we've been back in Beaufort, Kolson had his first full nights sleep in his crib. We also celebrated my 23rd birthday and my first and Kolson's first Mother's Day. We went to the beach for the first time which he loved. I only put his feet in because it was really wavy, but he loves bath time so I know if I sat him down he would have been splashing like crazy! Kolson had his first real playdate and he went to his first playgroup. We are hoping to start him in some mommy and me swim classes soon! The funnest thing he did was go on his first real pirate tall ship El Galeon which sailed to Beaufort from Spain! We took a family photo and he was playing with everything!
What I want to remember:
-He says "mmmm" whenever he takes a bite of food
- The way he is with other babies. He plays so well and will hold their hands
-The way he will completely stop doing whatever he is doing and turn his head if he hears his formula being mixed in a bottle
-The way he sings to the Octonauts song
-How happy he gets when I kiss his feet and tell him I love him
-The big slobbery baby kisses he gives my cheeks
-How he eats, sleeps, and plays with an arm behind his head and with one leg up in the air
