Kolson Month Five!

Eating & Sleeping Habits: Kolson has been in the same schedule for about two months now. He goes to bed at 7 at night, wakes up once around 11:30 but will go right back to sleep. He wakes up again around 3 and has a 3 oz bottle then goes right back to sleep. He wakes up for the day around 7:30 (although now that Patrick is here he sleeps until 9:30)

Measurements: Because we are in Mass, Kolson hasn't had his four month check-up yet, but he will have it next week (on my birthday!). If I had to guess, based on his last visit to the ER, I would say he is around 19 pounds and is 29 inches long.

New Milestones: Kolson now rolls from front to back and back to front. He is starting to crawl, but hasn't figured out the arms yet so he just goes in a circle like and inchworm lol. His two front bottom teeth broke through this morning! When people come over he will immediately smile at them and babble. He sings to music in the car, and can imitate people's expressions. He can imiitate hand movements, hold a spoon, and can blow raspberries. It's amazing how much he has developed over the past month. He his starting to say "mamma"! Right now it's just "maaaaaammmm" "maaaaaaammmmm"

Loves: smiling, talking, singing, eating, tummy time, sitting, standing, rolling, Scout, strangers, being held, car rides, blowing raspberries will cause him to give the cutest belly laugh (and if you say "whatttt are you doingggg?") everything.

Doesn't Love: The only things Kolson doesn't love are falling asleep and peas

Diapers: Koslon is now in size 3 Pampers swaddlers or Pampers baby dry. I think I am going to try him on overnights soon!

Clothing: Still in 3-6 month onesies and two pieces, but I think he is going to have to switch over to 6-9 month onesies when we go back to SC. Two pieces, I think he will be able to stay in 3-6 month. Sleepers he is in 6-9 month, but I think we are going to have to move him up to 12 months in a week or two.

Mood: With the exception of fussiness from falling asleep or teething, Kolson has been super happy and smiley :)

Firsts: Kolson had his first veggies (peas, which he didn't like), and rolled over from front to back and back to front for the first time. We had a family photo session and he met a few of his Aunts. Also, he saw Patrick for the first time in three months. We went to the zoo as a family with my parents. Even though Kolson slept almost the entire time, I think he had a good time!

What I want to remember
-His gummy smile, since he officially no longer has one.
- The way he kicks his legs when he is eating solids because he is so excited
-When he sings in the car to certain music
-How he tries to cheer up crying babies by squealing at them with a big smile
-He will only fall asleep if you make eye contact and smile. He loves to fall asleep with a smile.
-I am the first person he sees in the morning and when he looks at me he always has a huge smile on his face

Four Months!

Eating & Sleeping Habits: Kolson's schedule has gotten so much better! He has a 5oz bottle at 7 at night and goes to bed between 7:30 and 8. He gets fussy right before then, which is how I know he is ready for bed. He wakes up once around 11 at night has an ounce and goes right back to sleep. He wakes up every morning between 7 and 8 and has another 5oz bottle, plays and has a nap between 11 and 12 for either one or two hours! I never thought his schedule would be this good. I'm so happy!!

Measurements: Kolson has not had a check-up since he was 2 months, but we did have to take him to the ER and to a local pediatrician up here in Mass. We learned the hard way that he is lactose intolerant; when we tried to switch him to a soy formula he became extremely constipated so we had to take him to the ER. He now weighs 16 pounds and is 28 inches long! He is definitely going to be a big boy

New Milestones: This month was a huge developmental month for Kolson. Kolson giggles. But, so far he will only giggle for grandpa. Everyone else just gets a really smiley scream haha. Kolson will hold his bottle for half of his feeding now. He gets lazy though and expects everyone else to hold it for him. When we went to the ER the pediatrician told us we can officially start him on oatmeal cereal. His hand eye coordination is getting so much better; he will reach for a toy that he wants if you place it infant of him. He talks/coos to his bottle when he wants it. Finally, if he is around other people and he gets upset, he will look for me and if I am holding him and someone talks to him he will pretend to be shy and put his face in my neck :) Ugh, he is just growing up so fast.

Loves: His toy puppy Scout (he talks and coos to him), anything that plays music, Steve Harvey (he stares at him and smiles when he is on tv), grandpa (he is so fascinated by my father haha), baths, kicking on his back, having books read to him, playing with my phone, watching me eat food, and sitting up. If Kolson isn't sitting up he is not happy haha.

Doesn't Love: Falling asleep, tummy time (he really hates it now), sitting still

Diapers: Kolson is in size 2 diapers, but I have a feeling that he will be in size 3 diapers soon. Pampers swaddlers or baby dry tend to fit him better than any other brand.

Clothing: Size 3-6 everything. He is in the 99th percentile for height, but I am hoping that he will stay in 3-6 since he just got in them and I had to buy him a ton of new clothes (left all of his back home; I know new mom problems!)

Mood: Kolson was really gassy and extremely fussy before we switched him to the soy formula. After we switched him he was always smiling and cooing until he had to make a BM, then he would scream for about ten minutes until it passed. Now that we have him on Alimentum he is super happy all the time.

Firsts: Kolson had his first surprise party for grandma's retirement. He went to his first birthday party fir his cousin Aksel's half birthday! He celebrated his first Valentine's Day and loved being covered in momma's kisses

What I want to remember
-The way the tucks him bum under when you pick him up from a nap
-The huge smile he gets when someone says hi to him in the morning
-How excited he gets when he sees his bottle (his whole body starts to wiggle)
-The way he lifts only his right leg when he eats
-The way he sticks his tongue out at the bottle
-When he sings in the middle of the night
-How much he kicks and coos when he knows it's time for a diaper change

Aftermath of bath time...mommy's drenched!!!!
